Ginkgo Biloba, also known as the Maidenhair Tree is native to China.
It has been around a lot longer than people, with estimates putting the Ginkgo family at 270 million years old.
The leaves of Ginkgo Biloba are the parts of the tree which are believed to hold health benefits as they are the main source of the active Ginkgo compounds, the Flavone Glycosides and Terpene Lactones.
Ginkgo leaves have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for hundreds of years, relatively recently Ginkgo has become a hot topic of research.
